About Us

Starlight Trampoline Club was set up on 30 October 2005 by myself, Sheryl Milburn, as I felt there was a limited variety of sports available for children in the area and those which were available were either too expensive, and only looking to make a profit from participants or did not allow younger children to participate.
As a parent I was keen that there something available for youngsters other than hanging around the streets. Since then we have developed and increased disciplines offered including gymnastics. The club has now changed into a Community Interest Company, not-for-profit club, and BG ‘gymmark’ accredited with valid constitution, CRBs, policies, aims, goals, etc. Coaches, judges and officers are all volunteers; there are no paid positions in the club. Surplus funds are reinvested into the club to help expansion and more opportunities and the assets are locked for community use.
We support young people in a variety of ways. We provide a safe, healthy environment which can be used both as a social outlet as well as providing activities for keeping fit and healthy. We allow individuals to develop by setting targets and goals providing them confidence which can be used in other areas of their life. We regularly enter regional competitions and this is offered, but not compulsory, to all our members. We have progressed individuals to national competitions giving them pride in their sport. We do not limit the age of the child and are happy to introduce children from a young age.
We are open to all and keep our fees to a minimum to allow this. We do not discriminate and accept all ages, abilities and genders. We value all individuals and allow them to have decisions in the club and their future. We invest in young people through training by paying for coaching and judging courses. We have been complimented on the clubs friendliness and openness to suggestions.
We provide an alternative facility to the more popular sport offered both at clubs and school including an area identified as limited availability is sports for girls. It also allows for further diversification for individuals to learn new skills as well as supporting training aids for sports such as diving, freestyle skiing, free running and parkour, an alternative for individuals who may end up hanging around the streets.
